Cukurova Airport to Osmaniye: start with the real distance

No flights land in Osmaniye, yet plenty of Osmaniye-bound travellers arrive at Cukurova Airport every day. If you are planning Cukurova Airport to Osmaniye transport, the first thing to know is the distance: about 120-130 km by road to Osmaniye city centre and about 140-150 km to Kadirli. That is not a quick hop like Adana or Mersin. Plan it as a proper road trip. Below we explain which options actually work for visitors, where time tends to get lost, and how to plan around your flight.

Cukurova International Airport (IATA: COV) sits in the Tarsus district of Mersin province. It opened to commercial flights in August 2024 and took over the passenger traffic of Adana Sakirpasa Airport, which no longer handles commercial flights. Some older guides and maps still point you to the Adana airport. Ignore them. Anyone flying in for Osmaniye now lands west of Adana and has to cross the Adana area on the way east.

Public transport: possible, with changes

There is no airport bus that runs directly to Osmaniye. The Havamas shuttle (locals often search for it as "Havas") connects the airport with Adana, Mersin and Tarsus only. For an Osmaniye trip that means at least one change.

  1. Take the Havamas shuttle from the airport towards Adana; with stops, this leg can take about an hour.
  2. In Adana, find an intercity bus or minibus heading to Osmaniye, typically from the bus station.
  3. If you are going on to Kadirli, change again in Osmaniye.
  4. Cover the last stretch to your hotel or address by local taxi.

It works on paper. In practice, each change means waiting, moving luggage and reading signs and timetables that are mostly in Turkish. Some ticket desks may prefer cash in Turkish lira, so carry a little. Timetables and fares change, so we don't quote them here: check current Havamas times and fares through its official channels, and confirm intercity bus times with the operators themselves.

If you travel light, in daylight, and enjoy figuring things out, this chain is fine. A late-night arrival, small children or heavy bags change the picture quickly.

Taxi or private transfer?

Taxis wait outside the terminal. The hard part is knowing what a 120+ km metered ride will cost before you get in. On long distances the meter climbs fast, night rates can apply, and luggage charges are often unclear. A language barrier makes any negotiation harder still. For Kadirli the uncertainty grows with the distance.

With a private transfer the price is settled before you travel. At EcrinVIP the price is per vehicle, not per person, and it is fixed. A family of four and a solo traveller pay the same for the same vehicle. You can see the fixed per-vehicle price on our Cukurova Airport Osmaniye transfer page before booking. We do not take online payments; you pay by the method you choose: cash, card or bank transfer. Card payment is handy if you have not changed money yet.

The question we hear most from guests: "If my flight is late, will the driver leave?" No. We track your flight, and if the landing time moves, your driver waits accordingly. Meet-and-greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall is free.

Cukurova Airport to Kadirli: a longer drive north

Kadirli lies north of Osmaniye city, about 140-150 km from the airport. By public transport it means a second change in Osmaniye. That is why door-to-door travel makes the biggest difference on Cukurova Airport to Kadirli trips.

Visitors heading to Kadirli are often coming to see family, attend a wedding or work on a project in the region. Addresses outside the town centre can be hard to explain at a taxi rank, especially without Turkish. Sending us a map pin in advance solves that. Your driver then knows exactly where to go.

  • Share your flight number when booking so we can follow delays.
  • Send the exact address or a map location, especially for village addresses.
  • Request a child seat in advance if you are travelling with young children.
  • Choose the vehicle by passengers and luggage: Mercedes Vito VIP, Sprinter, midibus or coach.

Keep your passport handy for arrival formalities as usual; once you are through, your driver takes it from there. Guests often tell us the drive is the first relaxed moment of their trip.

Going back: when to leave Osmaniye for the airport

The return leg leaves less room for error. The road from Osmaniye passes around Adana, and traffic varies with the time of day. We will not give you an exact number of minutes. A simple rule works: estimate the drive generously, then add time for check-in and security. For international flights, follow your airline's recommended check-in time and allow extra for passport control.

Early-morning flights need special care. If you rely on public transport, the first bus from Osmaniye to Adana and the Havamas departure from Adana have to line up. When they don't, flights get missed. With a private transfer the driver collects you from your door, and we agree the pickup time together based on your flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a direct bus from Cukurova Airport to Osmaniye?

No. The Havamas airport shuttle runs between the airport and Adana, Mersin and Tarsus, so there is no direct airport bus to Osmaniye. Travellers using public transport usually ride to Adana first and then take an intercity bus or minibus to Osmaniye. Times and fares change, so confirm them through Havamas's official channels and with the bus operators before you travel.

How far are Osmaniye and Kadirli from the airport?

By road, Osmaniye city centre is about 120-130 km from Cukurova Airport and Kadirli is about 140-150 km. The exact distance depends on the route and your final address. Driving time depends on traffic, time of day and rest stops, so on the way back we recommend working backwards from your flight time and leaving a generous buffer.

Can I pay for my transfer by card?

Yes, card is one of the options. EcrinVIP does not take online payments; you pay by the method you choose when booking: cash, card or bank transfer. The price is fixed per vehicle, not per person, and you can see it on the route page before you book, so there is no meter to watch during a long drive.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

When you share your flight number at booking, we track your flight. If the landing time changes, your driver adjusts and waits at the airport, then meets you in arrivals with a name sign at no extra charge. For late-night arrivals this means you can head straight to Osmaniye or Kadirli without hunting for connecting transport.
