Missing a ferry hurts more than missing a flight — the next sailing is often hours away, sometimes the next day. So we plan every Tasucu port transfer backwards from the sailing time. Taşucu, in the Silifke district of Mersin, is where ferries and fast ferries leave for Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus. A Tasucu ferry transfer is what links travellers landing in the region with the sea crossing, and brings people returning from Cyprus back to the airport or home.
The passengers on this line are a mixed crowd. Students at Cypriot universities arrive at the start of term with heavy suitcases. Families head off on holiday. Business travellers try to make a meeting in Kyrenia the same day. At EcrinVIP we ask all of them the same two questions: what time does your ferry sail, and what time do you need to be at the port?
Tasucu to Kyrenia transfer: picking up by the sailing time
Before departure you are expected at the port in good time for ticketing, check-in, passport or ID control and customs. How early is set by the ferry company and can change with the season — the time printed on your ticket or in the company’s notice is the one to send us.
To that we add road conditions and the time of day. The D400 coastal road between Mersin and Silifke can crawl in summer around Erdemli, Kızkalesi and Atakent. For an early-morning sailing, we often suggest a night in Taşucu or Silifke rather than a pre-dawn drive.
One honest warning. If your Tasucu–Kyrenia transfer depends on a flight, leave a sensible buffer between landing and sailing. We track your flight and the chauffeur waits through delays at no extra charge — but the ferry will not wait for your plane. If the gap looks tight, we will say so when you book.
Where do Tasucu ferry transfers start?
- Cukurova Airport → Tasucu Port: the route most Cyprus-bound travellers ask for.
- Central Mersin and Mezitli: from your hotel or home to the port.
- Adana: a longer drive, so departure is planned early around the sailing.
- Gaziantep: via our branch there; a very long road, and we usually suggest a night in Silifke.
- Tasucu Port → airport or home: pick-up timed to the ferry’s actual arrival on your way back.
- Hotels in Silifke and Kızkalesi: a short hop to the port after your stay.
Prices are fixed per vehicle. A family of four rides in a Vito; a big student group or tour party goes in a Sprinter VIP or midibus on the same basis. The more people share the car, the lower the cost per head.
Students, families and lots of luggage
Start and end of term are among the busiest weeks on this route. A student moving a semester’s worth of belongings with several large suitcases and a box or two is completely normal. Tell us the bag count when you book and we will pick the vehicle around it. When we recommend a Sprinter instead of a Vito, luggage is usually the reason.
Families can add a child seat as an extra; just give the child’s age and weight. On the long coastal road the chauffeur will stop at a suitable spot if you need a break. Payment can be made in the vehicle by cash or card, or by bank transfer in advance.
A question we hear a lot: taking your own car to Cyprus is a separate process altogether. Our service brings you to the port and collects you from it — our vehicle does not board the ferry.
Port formalities, documents and sailing changes
Tasucu is an international departure point, so passengers go through passport or ID control and customs. Which documents are accepted for travel to Northern Cyprus, whether children need extra paperwork such as parental consent, and what the baggage rules are — those are set by the authorities and the ferry company, not by us. Please check the latest requirements with the ferry company and official sources before you travel.
Sailings can be postponed or cancelled because of weather and sea conditions. If that happens, just send us the new sailing time. We move the outbound transfer to match, and on return, if the ferry docks late, your chauffeur waits at the port exit. If the sailing moves to another day, we rebuild the plan for that day.
Coming back from Cyprus: where to next?
The return leg has its own rhythm. Passengers go through passport or ID control and customs and then collect bags, and how long that takes depends on the crowd that day. So your chauffeur is timed to the moment passengers start coming out, not the moment the ferry docks, and waits at the exit with a name sign.
The usual return destinations are Cukurova Airport and home addresses in Mersin and Adana. If you want to catch a night flight after an evening ferry, we talk through the timing separately — we will not suggest a tight connection that ignores the chance of a late ferry.
How to book a Tasucu port transfer
- Enter the sailing date, departure time and the time you must be at the port in the booking form or on WhatsApp.
- Add your pick-up address, number of passengers and bags, and any child seat needed.
- If a flight is involved, send the flight number too so we can review the buffer together.
- We confirm the vehicle, pick-up time and fixed per-vehicle price in writing.
- For the return, share the ferry’s expected arrival; your chauffeur waits for the actual arrival at the port exit.
- If the sailing changes, tell us on the same channel and the transfer is updated.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the transfer from Cukurova Airport to Tasucu Port?
The route is a long coastal drive via Mersin and Erdemli, so the time depends on traffic, season and the hour; in summer the resort stretches can slow things down noticeably. Rather than a fixed figure, we suggest a pick-up time based on your sailing and the time you need to be at the port. For early sailings, a night in Taşucu beforehand is often the easier option.
Will the chauffeur wait if the ferry arrives late at Tasucu?
Yes. Return transfers from Cyprus are timed to the ferry’s actual arrival, and if it docks late your chauffeur waits at the port exit. Put the expected arrival time in your booking and message us on WhatsApp if anything changes. On the outbound side, a postponed sailing means we move your transfer to the new time; a different day means a new plan.
Do you sell Tasucu–Kyrenia ferry tickets?
No. Tickets, reservations and sailing information are handled by the ferry company, so you need to buy from the company or its authorised sales channels. EcrinVIP covers the road transfer to and from the port. Once you have your ticket, send us the sailing time and the time you are asked to be at the port, and we plan the pick-up around that.
What documents do I need to travel to Cyprus by ferry?
That depends on rules set by the authorities and the ferry company, and they can change over time; children and foreign nationals may face additional conditions. For that reason we do not give definitive answers. Please confirm the current document requirements with the ferry company and official sources before travelling, and plan the transfer once that is settled.
Which vehicle works for students with a lot of luggage?
At the start and end of term students often travel with several large suitcases and boxes. Tell us the bag count and we will choose the vehicle by luggage volume rather than passenger numbers — even a single student may be better off in a Sprinter. Friends sharing one vehicle also lower the cost per person, since the price is fixed per vehicle.
First step: send us your sailing time
If you already have your ticket, enter the sailing time and pick-up address in the booking form at the top of this page and see the fixed per-vehicle price for Tasucu Port Kyrenia Ferry Transfer before confirming. Not sure how your flight and ferry line up? Send both times to the EcrinVIP team on WhatsApp and we will settle the pick-up time with you.
